When Higgo released his ‘Champion Sound’ edit of the Estelle and Kanye West classic ‘American Boy’ 3 years ago, it was very easy to see there and then that he had the raw talent and vision that’s necessary to stand out from the crowd. Fast forward to the present day and the 25 year old from Farnborough has been announced as the remix competition winner for the Grammy nominated dance music super duo, Disclosure.
Higgo’s fanbase has grown rapidly which isn’t surprising – both his bootlegs of popular songs and original tracks are always high spirited, catchy affairs with flashes of musical genius and an obvious ear for details. This has seen his music gain support from big names across Garage and UK Bass, which include the ‘Prince of Garage’ Conducta, Todd ‘The God’ Edwards, Sammy Virji and the aforementioned Disclosure.
Over the past 2 years Higgo’s music has picked up radio support including 1xtra, Rinse and Reprezent. He’s also notched up 21k monthly listeners on Spotify and has amassed over 1 million Soundcloud plays.
As a result, Higgo has been in demand and bookings up and down the country have followed; he’s headlined Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Nottingham, Exeter and Plymouth, took part in Sammy Virji’s ‘Like A Virgin: Part II’ tour, held down support slots for El-B, Sharda and Royal-T and was booked for the Conducta-curated ‘Redbull Roadblock’ in Sheffield.
With Higgo constantly developing his sound and excitement about his music growing, the end of 2020 and first few months of 2021 are shaping up to be huge.
